A backdrop is the one thing every photo passes through. Ours start as a flat sheet of birch and a cut file, and end up reading like architecture — sized to your room instead of to a catalog. Starting at $200, typically 2–5 weeks from drawing to delivery.
The Four Builds
Every backdrop is one of four structures
The difference is how much light comes through it, and how big it needs to get. Anything past a single sheet is built as two halves that join at the top — so an eight-by-ten still fits through a door.

How a backdrop actually gets made
N° 01
The drawing
Send a sketch, a Pinterest board, or a photo of the room. We draw it to scale and tell you what it costs before anything gets cut.

The cut file
Every curve and star point becomes a toolpath. This is where the engineering happens — the file decides whether a piece is strong or merely pretty.
N° 03
The router
Birch ply goes on the bed and comes off as parts. Joints are cut to fit, not forced, so a ten-foot arch still lines up at the seam.
N° 04
The hand pass
Edges eased, faces sanded, paint or seal laid on by hand. The machine handles precision; this is the part that stops it looking machine-made.

Good Questions
Before you ask us for a number
- How big can a backdrop actually get?
- A sheet of plywood is four feet by eight, so anything larger is engineered as two halves that join at the top. The standard oversized build is eight by ten, and we have gone bigger. If it has to fit through a particular venue door, tell us early and we design for that door.
- Flat or cutout — how do I choose?
- Flat panels are a solid silhouette: bold from across a room, and the faster, cheaper build. Cutout panels are carved with a pattern you can see through — jali lattice, star matrices, florals — so they read as texture up close and let light and greenery through. Flat when you want a clean shape behind you; cutout when you want the backdrop itself to be the detail.
- Can we reuse it after the event?
- That is the whole argument for building instead of renting. These are birch ply with hardwood-reinforced edges, not foam. Planners we work with have run the same arch through a dozen events and repainted it between themes. If it needs to travel, ask for folding legs and the portable build.
